An advocate, 1998 Reform activist, and environmental activist. He was born in Buton, Southeast Sulawesi in 1976. For more than two decades, he worked on legal issues, democracy, the environment, and the defense of people's rights. 

His advocacy experience includes working with Wahana Lingkungan Hidup Indonesia (WALHI), PENA '98, Indonesia Mining and Energy Studies (IMES), legal aid agencies, as well as various civil society movements, especially in mining, natural resources, information disclosure, and societal justice issues. al. 

As the founder and Chairman of the Board of Barakati Institute, Erwin encourages research, public education, community empowerment, and policy advocacy to strengthen ecological justice in Southeast Sulawesi. Through legal practice, writing, research, and citizen organizing, he places the law as a means to defend the people, protect living spaces, and ensure that natural wealth is managed for the welfare of the community. 

Erwin holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Southeast Sulawesi and continued his postgraduate education in business-economy law (Economic and Business Law) at Pancas University ila and Universitas Kristen Indonesia.
